Resident Evil 5

so it was the friday the thirteenth. the second time in the past two months which was a strange coincidence if you ask me. but to me it was pay day. i got my check and cashed it and i thought what should i do with my eighty dollars? most of my friends were bugging me to buy resident evil 5 and i knew they would be playing it more than me since i know my friends, most of them are obsessive about completing a game like this [i remember andy playing 4 all fucking day long till he beat that napoleon prick] so i said you know what i want to play this game myself, and i set down rules in my head. no one should be allowed to beat the game before me ya know?

as soon as i got back i tore the packaging off of the game case and popped it into my sexbox and having this being played in hd on my tv i was just blown away. from the opening cut scene to the first few levels i was addicted. the controls felt a bit awkard at first but now it feels like second nature so that compliant goes out the window after a short period of time of playing. graphically speaking this game looks real with a few flaws, some of the color schemes are a bit off and well all of the "zombies" are made of maybe one or two different skins which i understand makes it easier to program but at the same time it lacks originality [there is one that looks like saddam huessien] but it feels like RE4 which is a good thing and a bad thing. 4 was the first one i ever played and i loved it, i feel that i hailed that as the game of the year.

at the beginning of the game there is no real plot development but as you go through you begin to piece things together. its a shame that they make some things so obvious it hurts. but there is a few references to 4 and leon kennedy which i thought was interesting since in the instruction manuel when they gave a history of RE they totally ignored that game

aside from the impressive graphics that tend to make chris redfield lack a neck the music is amazing. i have the soundtrack which i will be using for bed music on the show is a large part of the thrill of the game. you sit there and once the "oh shit zombies up in this joint" music comes on you are sitting at the edge of your seat wondering where they are and when they jump out of nowhere you yourself jump just a tiny bit

it feels a bit redundant with the puzzles and the constant shooting of the same exact zombies but when there is a lot of things going on at once and your surrounded by beautiful scenery which just so happens to be full of "dead" africans you best be paying more attention to whats around you.

so i'm not done the game yet but that doesn't mean i cant write a review. the bosses are annoying and repetitive when it comes to how you beat them but then again it is a game so that is supposed to happen, i would have to give this game a score of: 9/10
