Everybody loves Ingrid Michaelson

So today I found out that one of my favorite female solo artists put out another album. Her name is Ingrid Michaelson and I stumbled upon her accidentally earlier in the year and begun to listen to her more and more as the year went by. Her music is generally styled as indie pop. This new album feels a tad bit different than last years "Be Ok" which had an exceedingly more pop vibe to it.

Lets take a look at the track listing to the album "Everybody"
1. "Soldier"
2. "Everybody"
3. "Are We There Yet"
4. "Sort of"
5. "Incredible Love"
6. "The Chain"
7. "Mountain and the Sea"
8. "Men of Snow"
9. "So Long"
10. "Once Was Love"
11. "Locked Up"
12. "Maybe"

12 tracks is a decent start for a solid album. To start most of these songs feel more of an acoustic touch as compared to a solid full band that you may or may not be familiar with from Girls and Boys but it is a nice sound and something you bob your head to quite frequently. She is blessed with a wonderful voice and I strongly suggest you check her out if you are a fan of female musicians

(500) Days of Zooey [Deschanel]

ah zooey deschanel. one of the most talented actress/singers/all around babe in the world. i've been on a zooey spree as of late watching a bunch of her flicks including Elf, Gigantic, The Good Girl, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Flakes, and Winter Passing. my undying love for her also extends to my want to see her critically acclaimed film 500 days of summer of which no one will see with me, but excluding that i also have found myself listening to her music, the band She and Him (her and M. Ward) and her songs from the Yes Man soundtrack. so here at Kyle and Tim we proudly support Zooey Deschanel...or at least i do...but i was surfing youtube and i came across this little diddy featuring the stars of 500 days, joseph gordon levitt (3rd rock from the sun, gi joe rise of the cobra) and i have to say it caught me so off guard that i had to double post today!

so enjoy! =)

Brand New Weezer

well this is news. weezer who as we all know is putting out a new album this year, the tentative release date is October 27th. other than that there is no news on the new album. as far as we know it's untitled.

so going online today i stumble across the newest single from the upcoming weezer album. it has a long name and i have to say its really really good. i know i said this about pork and beans which thus gave me hope for the red album (it was ok, way better than make believe). this song gives me up for album number seven.

if you are hankering for more weezer info check this site out.

as for the blink album i have heard absolutely nothing on it. so the speculation as to whether or not it is real remains a true question. the band reunited, they are touring but nothing new has surfaced. checking up on blink's site i found not a sinlge drop of news on the album or anything. if it is real expect a 2010 drop within the first quarter.

but this year we have seen quite a few pleasantly surprising new albums
-Franz Ferdinand --> Tonight Franz Ferdinand
-Wilco --> Wilco (The Album)
-The Decemberists --> The Hazards of Love
-Yeah Yeah Yeahs --> It's Blitz
-Peter, Bjorn and John --> Living Thing
-Matt and Kim --> Grand
-Morrissey --> Years of Refusal
-Placebo --> The Battle For The Sun

and in the coming months we have
-Arctic Monkeys --> Humbug
-Imogen Heap --> Ellipse
-As Tall As Lions --> You Can't Take It With You
-The Flaming Lips --> Embryonic
-Muse --> The Resistance
-Porcupine Tree --> The Incident

sounds like a few more solid months (all of those albums due out soon are in August/September) so we'll have a great start to the show, keeping you up to date with music!
